At times, no
matter how afraid we may be; we must let go of our fears. When
retracing our histories, backtracking on our ambitions, as well as
replacing our motives and agendas; we can always recall a time when we
saw no way out. We knew or thought we knew, that we would not and could
not make it through. I would be lying if I said that, "I have been
fearless thoughout my life." Many a time, have I endured some trials
that often made me sad and left me feeling the doom and gloom of
believing, "this is the end, i'm done, its over now." I can't pretend
as though I always knew and had someone to pick me up, push me forward,
and not hold me down like an anchor!

As a child raised in and out of
foster homes until I could reach the age of emancipation; the system
became familiar to me like that of the skin that covers the back of my
hand. Talks of me growing up to be nothing, to be just like my real
family, often kept me wondering how would I prove the naysayers wrong
and is what they tell me true? As a Man trying to find his place amongst
society; heartache, hardships, headaches, and heartbreak became oh so
routine for me that I feared I would never be good enough for no one;
not even myself! As a Husband trying to take care of his family and be a
provider; recognizing how hard it is for any man with some sense to get
ahead on these nickel and dime jobs quickly became a fear I had to
face!

Through overcoming my fears and not seeing them as the shackles
that allowed me to stay bound to hardships as well as the state of mind
of going through this life and never being able to reach the goals I
have set in place for my life. Standing in front of my fears; allow me
to face and embrace the reality of a man who can acknowledge in all
truth and honesty where I came from, what I endured, what I felt, what I
did, and most importantly, what I've learned in an effort to know that I
deserve to have what I want when I put fear behind me in an effort to
get ahead in this life as well as maintain the progress made.

me? What if I do this? What if they are right? What if I fail?!" You
will never know the outcome to your trying circumstances unless you step
in front of fear and put it behind you! Some things are easier said
than done; and then there are the things that need to be done. Learn to
have less fear and gain greater victories in overcoming challenges and
adversities.

Application:
Inward Core
will like to encourage you to take what Doneareum S. Winston has provided and
apply it to your life starting today. Try these easy steps:
- Make a list of the fears you want to face. Select one fear that you will work on for 21 days.
Don't worry about how daunting the fear is, but how you will feel after
you accomplish the goal or push through your fear. This may take some
thinking. For an example, you may want to approach more strangers, but
don't feel comfortable. An excuse you may use is "They don't care what I
have to say." or "I don't want anyone else to hurt me."
- Beside each excuse write down an action step(s) you can take to get rid of the excuse. Ex. "I will start off by speaking to people who get on the elevator with me in the mornings at work." or "I will purposely go to different events, speak to 2 people, and collect their information."
- Assign a date of when you will take the action step(s)
- Talk to someone about your fears/excuses and the steps you are willing to take to push through your fears (Please select a person that will support you and not inform others).
- Celebrate ALL steps you take in order to help you push through your fears (even the small ones).
Please send Inward Core an email of any fears you decided to Push Through or email us if you need more suggestions to help you push through your fears.
