One of the best things you can do for anyone is say with conviction, “I believe in YOU!” I remember having a teacher say those words to me when I was in middle school and those uplifting words changed how I viewed myself as a person. I changed from an introvert to extrovert overtime and believed I always had something to offer. Today I find myself saying those same words to my husband, children, family members, mental health clients, TeenHOP members (www.teenhop.com), business partners, and young adults when I’m invited to speak at universities and high schools.
I purposely put TeenHOP members in leadership roles, regardless if they start off feeling uncomfortable. I want them to do the opposite of what they believe in order to CHANGE how they view themselves. They realize after doing it, they have the ability to be a great leader and desire more leadership roles. They also see a clear picture of their true self. We as people need to know the possibilities are endless in God. So, if someone shares their dreams with you, tell them how and why you believe they can do it. Share stories of how others had rough starts and where they are today because they DID NOT GIVE UP! Never be a dream stealer or killer, but be the person who is known to believe and expect the best from others.
If you have a love one or family members causing harm to self, don’t ignore their actions nor accept or believe this is who this person was destined to become. Please TREAT and tell him or her how much you believe in them, and how you will continue to pray and do what you can to help them whenever they are ready to change their life around. Let them know you are cheering for them and can’t wait to hear about what they are doing to better themselves spiritually, mentally, and physically.
Find someone this week and tell him or her “I believe you can do ____________, “ Please know I believe you can do anything you put your mind to do, FAITH is a true gift from above so USE IT!!
